This legislative session MFOA sponsored LR 674 (HP 1134), a Joint Resolution calling on the Canadian Government to end their sanctioning of the annual seal pup slaughter.
MFOA
proposed this resolution once before - in the 124th legislature - but
it did not make it out of the Legislative Council (leadership of both
parties and chambers) to be voted on by the full legislature.
This legislative session we again filed the resolution and are pleased to report that LR 674 (HP 1134) has been ADOPTED!

Thank you to all of you who contacted your legislators urging them to support LR 674 (HP 1134).
Our gratitude also goes to Rep. Paul Waterhouse of Bridgton, who sponsored the resolution for MFOA.
Although
it is just a small step in the right direction - we are proud to have
Maine take a stand to end this horrific annual slaughter.
Please help us to continue to stand up for animals that cannot speak for themselves.
It costs money to educate the legislators, public and media, as it does to advocate and lobby. Please donate today.
