We in Maine are fortunate to have the opportunity to view an excellent documentary entitled ‘Dogs Are People Too’, which gives us as a society pause in legally considering our relationship with our dogs. UK film producers Tom Miller and Hendrix Faller have asked Maine Friends of Animals to host an exclusive New England showing of the film.
There is limited seating so register today. See the attached film trailer link and flyer on more about the evening.
We are excited to have this groundbreaking type of documentary here in Maine. Maine Friends of Animals has planned an entertaining evening to enjoy a thought-provoking documentary, and have drinks, appetizers and an opportunity for good conversations about the film and other issues related to providing our canine friends the protection they deserve. We need to move away from dogs legally being just ‘property’, like a dining room set, especially when 90% of owners consider their pet dog “family”.
Investigating the unlawful killing of a dog, the film explores the four legged civil rights movement that is gaining attention nationally. The ‘mother’ of the deceased dog is going to the end of the earth to bring those who killed her ‘boy’ to justice. On her journey, she steps into a world of dog-lawyers and canine rights that is bubbling under the surface of America. Her trial spotlights the conflict.
Invitations are limited so please let us know if you would like to reserve a seat(s). There is a $10 entry fee to help cover expenses.
